Most specifically it is coming to Park City Resort on October 4-5, 2014. I am excited to have a chance to run and cover this race. I have been looking at this race series for a couple years as friends have talked about their experiences running their races. This is year I have been mixing it up with a number of trail races and as well as obstacle races.

In looking at the series more as it preps to come to Utah I learned that it not only had the longer distances races that I had seen friends running but in fact had distances for everyone from a 50 miler, 50K, trail marathon, marathon relay, half marathon, 10K and 5K. Definitely offering a distance for all ability levels and interests. They also have a kids race both days so really everyone in the family can participate. I am excited to see what Race Director – Nick Moore brings to the ski slopes of Park City in his course design. I have been fortunate enough to run several of Moore’s courses in both the US and Mexico and they never disappoint.

When prepping to figure out which races fell best in my race schedule I opted for a little two-day challenge. Personally, I will be running the trail marathon on Saturday and the 5K on Sunday. I wanted to have the best of both words and really see what the race had to offer at all levels. I maybe limping through the 5K on Sunday but it will still be fun.  Overall, I am just stoked for the event and ready to go run it now, although there is a lot of racing between now and then.

Other highlights of the event include Dean Karnazes offering meet and greet sessions, as well as a talk before the event about his experience. For those looking for speed there are age group and overall awards for all distances, cool swag, and basically a fun weekend on the mountain running lots of miles at attitude. If you aren’t ready to run consider volunteering and cheering on friends. Either way this should be a great event to come to Park City and the greater Salt Lake City area getting more people into the mountains and experiencing the joy of trail running.
