What a Day!

Posted on March 31, 2012 by Margaret Schlachter

Not sure where to start with today. It’s been a big one. Work was action packed today meeting with many families interested in enrolling their children here for next year. However, this was not what made today a big one, although it added to it. Today, two big announcements were made. If you are in the Facebook world this is so fifteen minutes ago but for those that are only on the blog.

1. The official announcement was made. I am an official member of Team Gaspari, the sponsored athletes with Gaspari Nutrition. They make great nutritional products and I have been testing out their protein powder for the past couple of weeks and can say they are great!

I am super psyched to me on their team and look for a weekly post over at Gaspari Nutrition from Dirt In Your Skirt. Currently, the MyoFusion Probiotic Protein Powder favorite flavor is Cookies & Cream. Looking forward to trying the Cinnamon Roll & Chocolate Peanut Butter Flavors. The Banana and Chocolate are pretty good as well. I am looking forward to being able to write about all their products. It’s great to see a company like Gaspari branching out into function fitness athletes!

2. The Spartan Race Ultra Beast, I am in. If the Beast wasn’t enough on Killington last year. This year I have been picked to be able to do it twice! It will be the first full marathon obstacle race and it’s right here in my backyard. Yes, I am pretty excited about that one.

Margo the Great!

Congratulations, your Spartan Ultra Beast application has been reviewed and you are being invited to register for the World’s First Marathon Distance Obstacle race to take place on September 22, 2012.  You are a part of obstacle racing history.  There is NO other event of this type anywhere in the world.  The field will be limited to a small, extreme group of athletes and you are part of a select few invited to take part.

It will also be a reunion of sorts at the Spartan Chicked Campaign started here in Killington last year. Since I found out some of the founding ladies are competing I have had the cheesiest song in my head and well now it will be in yours. The BEAST and the Spartan Chicks hold a special place in my heart and in many ways the Beast coming back to Killington really feels like we are reunited:

Yes, this song is ridiculous, but the Beast and I will be reunited and it feels so good!
