About Keri in her own words: “My most important job right now is being a mother to three wonderful boys, ages 16, 14, and 9, and wife to my best friend and husband of 20 years. I also have my own personal training business called FitbyKeri. I love helping others feel as healthy as I do. But I also like to play! I’ll be turning 40 this year and I’m devoting this momentous year to Spartan Races and whatever else that stumbles into my path that looks like a fun challenge!”
Keri started her obstacle racing career in Miami and recently returned back to her roots just outside of Salt Lake City. She is a mother of three and recently celebrated her twentieth wedding anniversary. Keri feels right at home obstacle course racing as she grew up on a diary farm and in her words “the farm was my playground”. She grew up climbing trees, playing how in haystacks, and scaling up grain silos. A perfect background to build off of for racing. She has been a stay home mom until her kids went off to school, looking for a new adventure she decided to follow her fitness passion and became a personal trainer.
Meeting Keri today you would never know she once was known not for athletics but marching band, band, pep band, orchestra and choir. She was a self proclaimed band geek even receiving a music scholarship to college for French Horn. She recently shocked her classmates at a twenty year reunion, when old friends found out the former band geek was now a personal trainer and OCR enthusiast.
Keri today when not training clients, focuses on her family and volunteers as a Den Mother for Boy Scouts of America. This year she plans to tackle Reebok Spartan Races in Southern California, Arizona, Florida, Los Vegas, Montana, Utah, Monterey and Vermont. She is also competing in the Dirty Girl Run and Dirty Dash here in Utah. We are excited to have her on the team and her to share he knowledge of training and sport!
