Win the Race of a Lifetime: TransRockies Run from Kahtoola
We just got an email about a race of a lifetime for one or two lucky people. Kahtoola is awarding a scholarship to this year’s TransRockies. Find out more below and how to enter.
From Kahtoola – FLAGSTAFF, AZ – With bitter cold temps and snow blanketing much of the nation, Kahtoola has made a heart-warming offer to runners.
Flagstaff, Arizona-based footwear traction company Kahtoola is awarding one free participant entry to North America’s premier trail running stage race. “We know athletes are training despite the winter weather, and so many of them are Kahtoola customers,” says marketing manager Hilary Childs. “Whether you’re running in Kahtoola MICROspikes® or NANOspikesTM traction, braving the ice and snow in winter takes dedication and determination. That’s exactly the kind of commitment it takes to complete 120 miles in six days on the trail — the hallmark of the PepsiCo TransRockies Run.”
TransRockies Run race organizer Aaron McConnell notes that the mountains themselves inspire participants to test their personal limits each day. “The views of the peaks day after day inspire runners to wake up, lace up, and get to the starting line for each day’s stage. We couldn’t produce this iconic event without the spectacular backdrop of the Colorado Rockies, or our like-minded partners like Kahtoola.”
Founded as a six-day trail running stage race for teams of two, the PepsiCo TransRockies Run now offers solo options as well as a shorter, three day event. The TransRockies Run is a must do, bucket list race for trail runners. But it takes grit & resolve, enthusiasm & staying power. Do you know someone who has this kind of mental and physical tenacity, someone who embodies the spirit of the PepsiCo TransRockies Run? If so, Kahtoola wants to know about him/her, and wants to honor their determination by giving away a free entry to the person or team who they feel best represents the TRR spirit.
This is your chance to nominate an athlete(s) with a unique and compelling story. Kahtoola Founder Danny Giovale feels deeply about giving back to the trail running community, and views this giveaway as more than just another way his company can continue to support and grow the sport. “It’s an opportunity to dig a little deeper and celebrate the stories that shine a light on our best human qualities,” he says. “Through this ‘contest,’ we are asking you to reach out to others to encourage them to take on this challenge with support from you, Kahtoola, and the whole TRR community.”
The Kahtoola sponsorship will cover 100% of the entry fee for the race and can be used for the RUN3 or RUN6 team or solo entries.
Send your nominations to [email protected] by Friday April 10, 2015.
Include your reasons for the nomination in 500 words or less. Please ask permission from the nominee first and let him/her know of your submission. Include their contact information, along with your own as the nominator. Winners will be announced Friday May 15, 2015.
