Celebrating Milestones – Dirt in Your Skirt Podcast
Daily in my gratitude journal, I give thanks for the little things in life, a good cup of coffee, laughing my ass off with friends, cuddling with my dogs, and a loving partner to share my life with. It’s the little things that are normally invisible. It is rare we get to celebrate the big events.
Today is one of those days. The Dirt in Your Skirt Podcast recorded it’s 100,000 downloads via Libsyn stats. While numbers don’t tell the whole story and when you factor in SoundCloud (my original host numbers), YouTube listens, Facebook and Twitter listens the podcast reached that number months ago. But there was something satisfying looking at that cumulative download number click past 100K.
To put 100,000 into perspective. If every download were a person it would fill many of the world’s largest stadiums. Now that is crazy to think about.
When I started the podcast getting 100K downloads seemed so far away. It was. Eighty-six episodes later and countless hours of research, booking, recording, editing, and social media work the day is here. While large podcasts see that number per episode for me as a one-woman show – I don’t outsource any of the work.
Everything you see on Dirt in Your Skirt I have literally or electronically touched. If my keyboard could talk.
What feeling do I have right now?
Gratitude and Thanks
While I am the one who creates the content, podcasts, the merchandise, ships every order from my house, it is you who are reading this, have listened to a podcast, and have supported all the Dirt in Your Skirt endeavors throughout the years.
I could not have imagined in spring 2016 when I decided to do a podcast how much joy and personal growth the project would bring me personally and the community that it would form around it. So a huge thank you to you! And we aren’t stopping anytime soon with over 10 episodes currently recorded and waiting to be released. As well as at least another 15-20 guests I have on the current and ever-growing list to record with. Time for new milestones and new goals around the podcast.
