Summer Reading

With Graduate School all but over time is suddenly more of a friend than it has been for months. Gone are the weeks of having to read over 300 pages of text for a class along with several writing assignments. Gone are my Sundays filled with papers strewn all around the bedroom. Instead, the days are now longer and time seems to be on my side.

Our household in an effort to cut down on evening screentime are starting to forego the nightly Netflix, HBONOW, or Hulu ritual and instead spend time digging into books and audiobooks.

One of the hangovers from finishing school is a need to continue to read and take in new information. While for years podcasts have been a source of new information and NPR radio shows a staple in the house, now reading time is being added into the mix.

I have never been a huge fan of fictional books and instead try to focus on research topics that I personally find interesting. So currently my summer reading list consists of nine books and about a half dozen audiobooks on health, wellness, sleep, happiness, diet, training, and life hacks. To me life is about continual learning and continual growth.

Here is to a summer of reading, listening, and continued learning for the mind, body, and soul.
