Gratitude – Take the Challenge
July has just begun and for most it’s the time of year to take a vacation, relax a little, play outside and just enjoy the summer overall. There are tons of challenges in the summertime to keep you motivated including ours. It seems these days Facebook is filled with challenges here and there ice baths, push-ups, squats, 30-day this or 30-day that. Well frequently I hold myself to another type of challenge. I normally stray away from the internet challenges but this one is different.
I call it my Gratitude Challenge. The rules are simple, thank at least one person a day for being in your life. Whether it’s online, in person, or a stranger you see performing an act of kindness. Try to find at least one person a day to thank for being around and being themselves. I find this exercise extremely helpful when I am feeling low to remind myself of all the great people around me and randomly thank them. We often overlook those people that everyday offer us encouragement, a kind smile in the grocery store, or coffee shop.
Take the challenge with me this month. There is no prize at the end, no medal, nothing to report. This is purely a challenge for yourself and if you are like me the kindness you put out into the world will come back to you 10 fold.
Take The Gratitude Challenge with me this month, this year, or whenever and remember you never know when one small act can completely change a persons day or even life.
