Vanessa Gebhardt is a 29-year-old from Munich, Germany. She is known by many as a happy athlete with an infectious smile. Gebhardt has taken on and succeeded in some of the toughest races on the earth including Fuego y Agua’s Survival Run in both Canada and Nicaragua.

She recently not only finished the notoriously hard event Survival Run Nicaragua this year (with an average finisher rate around 5%) but she won the event overall besting three locals in the process.

Gebhardt joins the podcast to talk about her jump into training through Freeletics in 2012 and how she found obstacle racing and eventually Survival Run in 2016 and 2017. She talks about how a positive mindset helps her achieve her goals, and how she likes to challenge herself to continue to evolve and grow.

The old adage is action speaks louder than words and Vanessa Gebhardt embodies this through her athletic achievements and overall commitment to continual improvement. She definitely inspires all those around her to try a little harder and be a little better in all aspects of life.
