WARRIOR DASH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP CROWNS WINNERS TO TAKE $100,000 IN PRIZES

Elite Athletes Sprinted to a Competitive Finish in Record Time

ESPARTO, CA (Oct. 18) – The inaugural Warrior Dash World Championship concluded this morning with over 300 athletes competing to take their share of the prize money. The top five men and women were announced during the awards ceremony that took place at 11am among hundreds of spectators.

“The level of competition here is absolutely amazing,” men’s winner Max King said after the race, “You’ve got anybody from obstacle race champions who won Spartan race just a couple weeks ago to Olympians to fast runners.” King had a strong lead through the finish, beating out OCR elite athletes like Hobie Call, Cody Moat and Hunter McIntyre. “Warrior Dash is much more intense,” King said, “just because it’s shorter doesn’t mean it’s any easier, it means you just have to run a lot faster; it changes the dynamic a lot.” King crushed the competition with a strong lead through the finish.

Warrior Dash has paved the way in the obstacle racing industry by challenging nearly two million racers of all calibers across the globe since 2009. The Warrior Dash World Championship was the conclusion to the 2014 season, however Warrior Dash plans to be in full swing for the 2015 season beginning in Florida on January 31, 2015.

Warrior Dash is the world’s largest obstacle race series, held on the most rugged terrain in more than 50 locations across the globe. Since 2009, nearly two million participants have earned their Warrior helmets by tackling a fierce 3-4 mile course and 12 extreme obstacles. After conquering the Battleground, Warriors celebrate with turkey legs, beer steins, and live music at a post-race party in a league of its own. In 2014, top finishers are invited to participate in the Warrior Dash World Championship to test their strength amongst the world’s top obstacle racing athletes and win their share of $100,000 of cash awards.
