Day 18… The Agony of deFeet

Where did the mountain go?

Tough one today, not so much the workout as the getting myself in gear and motivated. The weather has turned and it’s currently cold, windy, rainy, and I am living in the clouds. The perfect day to sit up next to a fire and drink hot coco, not get up and train for the Spartan Beast and World’s Toughest Mudder. The mountain is buried in the clouds. Did I mention the rain? Enough complaining, seriously had a hard time finding motivation today. Once I got myself in the gym another story. Just proves again the hardest part is getting out the door, or in my case down the hall.

I decided after much prodding from friends to take it easy on the foot today and headed to the gym to do a 45 minute spin. I hate working out inside. It’s so boring, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. I knew I had a 12 miler coming up on Saturday morning and wanted to be ready for it. So to the gym I went, armed with my laptop and Hulu. The only thing that gets me though the indoor rides is watching a show at the same time. I kept the bike at a decent resistance and just get spinning. Happy to report no foot pain the entire time and looking forward to Saturday.

After I hoped off the bike I made a little detour outside and helped spread a bunch of small rocks (gravel). Yes, rocks keep finding their way into my workouts! We must have a special connection. After loading up a few wheelbarrows full and helping spread them around I headed back to the gym to lift. Today’s lifting…

Med Ball Overhead Throw 8kg – 2, 4, 6, 8, 10

Bosu Ball Squat w/ 10lb dumbbells – 10, 8, 6, 4, 2
Bench Press on Balance Ball w/15lb dumbbells – 2, 4, 6, 8, 10

One Arm Press 20lb – 10, 8, 6, 4, 2
Russian Twists 8kg – 50 reps

So for a day that demotivated me I am happy to say I pushed a pretty good workout through. At least I left a lot of sweat in the gym! Looking forward to picking up this weeks veggies and meeting up with some Death Racers later today! Look for the big announcement tomorrow.
