Happy Muddy Feet

Double Session Thursday, running and lifting. As severe thunderstorms have rolled through Vermont today I was able to get a lifting session in while the heavens were opening up outside. The gym was extremely hot and humid today and I think I left half my body weight in sweat in the gym.

Early Afternoon Lifting
4 Sets of Each

Lumberjack Squat w/heel raise/press 70lb x 15 reps
Overhead Medicine Ball Toss 5kg x 15 reps
Burpees 15 reps
Kettlebell Swing 15lb dumbell x15 reps
Squat into medicine ball vertical toss 5kg x 15 reps
Renegade Row 15lb dumbells x 15 reps

The entrance of Pine Hill Park

Later in the afternoon, I had to head to Rutland to pick up my CSA share from Champlain Orchards at the Rutland Co-op. After picking up this weeks box of veggies and other goodies, I took a chance and headed over to Pine Hill Park for a trail run. It was nice to get on the trails there. When I get onto the trail I never know which way I am going to go. Basically, I just start running and see where the trail takes me. The trails are maintained for both running and mountain biking. I was lucky enough to get in the run before the rain starts again tonight. The trails were nice and muddy and it was fun to run through the puddles. I definitely was feeling the Lumberjack Squats this afternoon!

Afternoon Trail Run
Distance: 2.02 Miles
Time: 30:15

Type of trail: Hilly, Rolling, Muddy

Tomorrow is an off day. I’m off to Boston to honor a mentor.
