Look What Santa Brought…

What does a 10 month old, a Kindle, Techwick gear from EMS, an axe, Go Girl aka FUD (Female urination device), body glide, and a new pair of socks and hand and feet warmers all add up to. No it’s not the set up for some awful joke. It also isn’t the list of required gear at my next race. No this is a list of some of the some of the highlights of my Christmas and after the Spartan Radio show was taken over by the topic of one of my gifts while I was a guest on the show it is time to write about it.

A sense of humor is something not lost in my family. Most of my brief holiday was spent other than sleeping as I wrote about earlier this week was spent trying to spend as much time as possible with my only niece who is 10 months old. She is extra special to me as I was in the delivery room when she was born due to a chance blizzard last year. She is my little monkey.

That takes care of the 10 month old, now the rest of the list this is where it gets interesting so under the tree and in my stocking were all the other items. I knew about the Kindle and Axe and had actually asked for both as the Axe will come in handy for some races and training later in the winter and spring and well the Kindle. I took the plunge into the word of e-readers. I have some traveling coming up next year and the thought of just bring able to bring the Kindle on the plane won me over.

Those were the things I knew I was getting the rest well, they were surprises. The EMS techwick fleece wear, you can never have enough of and have been wearing it since I got it. It’s my blue ninja gear! Hand and feet warmers, I coach skiing, you can always use them. New socks, my mother has a tradition of giving us holiday themed socks a couple times a year. I have a drawer full and expect these each year in my stocking.

The new editions this year caught me a little off guard. Bodyglide for Her, this is something new and very much will be used. However for my parents to figure out that Bodyglide was something that I used was a first. They are paying attention.

The last item and the one that took over Spartan Radio last night when I was on air is a product called Go Girl. Well to best describe this product, well lets just use the description from their website:

“Simply put, GoGirl is the way to stand up to crowded, disgusting, distant or non-existent bathrooms. It’s a female urination device (sometimes called a FUD) that allows you to urinate while standing up. It’s neat. It’s discreet. It’s hygienic.”

As I opened small item after small item in my stocking, I got to this product. I was at a lose whether to thank my parents or really to find it a joke. In truth this is a bizarre gift but one I could totally use on long hikes or other treks in the woods. So it could be exceedingly useful. I believe my mother said, we saw this and thought of you laughingly and this is the humor in my family. We find bizarre items for each other on the holidays. This year my mother bested is us all with the Go Girl. It truly is a one of a kind gift and to get a better idea of the whole thing its really best to listen to Spartan Radio and hear our conversation from last night. I had planned to write on another topic today but it can wait until tomorrow. Because once you start talking about the Go Girl really the seriousness is over and the giggles ensue.
