Run Free – The True Story of Caballo Blanco

Posted on July 2, 2014 by Margaret Schlachter

If you are like me you know the name Caballo Blanco. You have read the stories of the Copper Canyons in the book Born to Run. If you are like me maybe it inspired you to run to live or you just liked the story. For me the Copper Canyons and Micah True aka Caballo Blanco hold a powerful meaning in my life. Micah lived to Run Free or Corre Libre. This movie Run Free – The True Story of Caballo Blanco is important to us all who choose to follow our own path.

If you have followed this blog for a while you may have read about my adventures in the Copper Canyons this year. It was a profound experience and one which was perspective changing on life. The spirit of the canyons is deep within me and although I never got to meet Micah while he was alive my time spent with Maria Walton and the rest of my Mas Loco family is deeply embedded in me. I am lucky enough to call my friends people whose life was touched by Micah and his spirit continues through those who knew him and who were around him. Normally I do not ask people to invest their money on projects with Kickstarter but this one is different. If people have a chance to see the spirit of Micah True and the spirit of the canyons it can be life changing.

Please check out this Kickstarter Campaign it is one worth investing even a few dollars into. Below is a link to the site as well as the video above. I was lucky enough to be asked to be part of the campaign and I can tell you the footage left on the cutting room floor for this pitch had us all in tears while we were at Born to Run Ultras a few months ago.

Please help this film be made, and Run Free…
