Over the next week we will be introducing the members of Team Shark School for World’s Toughest Mudder. I am proud to be on such an amazing team of diverse athletes. Each member has written a bit about themselves to get to know the team better. Today we introduce Matt “Iron Beast” Dolitsky in his own words…

“My name is Matthew ‘Iron Beast” Dolitsky and I’m an extreme obstacle racer and endurance athlete. I am a sponsored athlete with VPX Team Xtreme OCR and Team Mud and Adventure.

My adventures into obstacle racing started in late 2011 with The Highlander obstacle race in Bartow, Florida. Soon after, I finished Tough Mudder in Tampa and my obstacle race obsession was born.

In 2012, I competed in 36 races of varying types ranging from road races, trail races, 1/2 marathons, triathlons, marathons, the Spartan Ultra Beast Marathon “Finisher”, and World’s Toughest Mudder “Finisher” (5 laps). 2013 is more about quality and distance rather than quantity. My major races for 2013 consist of Florida IRONMAN 70.3 (Finisher), The Death Race (Bib Finisher), IRONMAN Louisville (Finisher), Spartan Ultra Beast Marathon (Finisher), IRONMAN Miami 70.3, and World’s Toughest Mudder. I’m planning on competing in the Fuego y Agua Survival Run in 2014. I’m also considering a Double ANVIL (IRONMAN) in 2014.

In addition to my athletic endeavors I’m also a father of two boys and manage a running store.
