Sarah Knight is the internationally bestselling author of The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck, which has been translated into more than twenty languages and has hit bestseller lists all over the world, including in the US, Canada, England, Germany, Italy, and Poland. The sequel, Get Your Sh*t Together—a continuation of her crusade to promote “mental decluttering”—was on the New York Times bestseller list for twelve weeks and is also being published worldwide.
In 2017, she delivered a TEDx talk called “The Magic of Not Giving a F*ck” at TEDxCoconutGrove in Miami, Florida, which has now been viewed more than 3 million times.
And in November 2017, the third book in the “No F*cks Given Guides” series—You Do You: How to Be Who You Are and Use What You’ve Got to Get What You Want—was published in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, with other countries to follow.
As a senior editor with several major publishing houses in New York, for fifteen years Knight worked with authors such as Jessica Knoll, Gillian Flynn, Chris Cleave, Jen Kirkman, Emily Nagoski (future guest on the show), Jay Rayner, James Lee Burke, and many more. In 2015, she left corporate life behind and moved with her husband from Brooklyn to the Dominican Republic. She no longer gives a f*ck about winter.
I invited Sarah to be on the podcast after listening to her three books on Audible. Not only does Sarah have her books available on Audible she also narrated them. Her style drew me right in. While at times listening I found myself getting annoyed at her message. Ultimately, I realized my annoyance was because she was completely right and it was something I needed to examine in my own life.
I was honored when she said yes to being on the podcast and hope you enjoy our conversation and honestly, if you need a life kick in the ass this book series will help you get on track and give you permission to be your authentic self, without losing all the people you love and totally messing up your life in the process. Enjoy our episode.
